1. Do what you love for a living.

Today workplaces are a modern tragedy in which too many people go to work with no sense of joy and desire. The biggest mistake most people make in life is not trying to do something they are most passionate about.  Instead they choose a job that either leaves them stressed, bored or glued to the clock. Start with finding out what your real value of success is and how you can enjoy yourself more.  People who love what they do feel a sense of contribution to a cause they strongly believe in. It’s not too late so stop settling and do what makes you truly happy.

Steve Jobs Quote:

“I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

2.  Pay it forward.

When your focus is on helping others, you don’t spend as much time evaluating and criticizing your own life. Research also shows that being grateful in general, whether it be your health, your job, or the people in your life, helps you become a happier person.

3. Let Go Of Negativity.

Happiness is an easy and natural state until you experience your first wound. You cannot hold onto anger and disappointment and still be happy.  Resentment keeps you stuck in the past with an unhealed sense of self, while forgiveness brings you back to the present.

4. Have A Free-Spirit.

In other words, start living… you’re not getting any younger! So often we are preoccupied with the pursuit of happiness in life that we are in danger of forgetting how to actually live it. So switch off the controls and increase your happiness score by being a little more spontaneous today.

5. Focus On The Experiences.

Unfortunately money will not buy you happiness. However when you do have that extra cash to splurge, spend it wisely. Studies show that people who spend their time and money on doing things with those they love report higher levels of happiness than those who buy a more expensive car or house. Memories keep an emotional photograph of the experience, whereas the material things don’t make as big an emotional impact.
